Blessed Easter. He is Risen!








Fire is kindled and the Paschal Candle lit at the Easter Vigil, new light symbolizing Jesus’s resurrection.





Holy water is sprinkled on the congregation after the renewal of our baptismal vows.



A full church for our joyful celebration of Jesus’s resurrection.


In her sermon Mother Jackie explored the parallels between how Jesus’s followers experienced resurrection, and how we experience it in our own lives.

How St. John’s travelled with Jesus in Holy Week, from his entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to his Last Supper and crucifixion.

Members of St John’s met for supper before the Maundy Thursday service to commemorate Jesus’s last supper with his apostles.



The Rev Jackie Cameron washed the feet of parishioners, in accordance with Jesus’s act of humility in washing the feet of his apostles before the Last Supper and his command to them to follow his example.




Bread and wine blessed during the service but not consumed by the congregation is carried in solemn procession to the altar of repose after the last celebration of eucharist before Easter Sunday.



The last act of the service was the stripping of the altar of all cloths and ornaments, before the congregation left the church in silence.
